FAQs

What Is Alternative Provision?

Anew AP delivers alternative provision through both in-person support and online one-to-one tuition. Alternative provision refers to educational pathways created for children and young people who are unable to attend mainstream school, either for a temporary period or on a longer-term basis. This can include learners with medical or health needs, those experiencing anxiety, or pupils who find it challenging to cope within a traditional classroom environment. By offering tailored and flexible support, alternative provision ensures that every student remains engaged in learning and is given the opportunity to progress and succeed.

How Much Does Anew AP Cost?

All Anew AP provision is funded by the commissioning school or local authority. There is no charge to parents, and families are unable to purchase services directly. To explore access to Anew AP for your child, parents should contact their child’s school or their local authority to discuss referral options.

Can My Child Return to Mainstream School After using an Alternative Provision Provider?

Yes. Wherever appropriate, Anew AP works towards supporting students to reintegrate into their mainstream school environment. Each year, many of our learners successfully transition back into face-to-face classroom settings following their time with us.

Where a return to mainstream education is not suitable or in a child’s best interests, we are able to provide ongoing, longer-term support. We also assist students with next steps, including transitions into alternative education pathways such as further education colleges and apprenticeship programmes.

Are All Anew AP Lessons Delivered In Person?

No. In addition to face-to-face provision, Anew AP delivers online lessons that are planned around each child’s individual needs and agreed in partnership with their school or local authority. Our online one-to-one sessions are taught live and are highly interactive, ensuring pupils remain engaged and supported throughout each lesson

Our Local Authority has enrolled my child with Anew AP, what happens next?

Once your local authority has confirmed your child’s placement with Anew AP, a member of our team will contact you by email, followed by a brief introductory phone call. This initial conversation allows us to confirm key details and gather further information about your child, ensuring we fully understand their needs and can carefully match them with the most suitable tutor. Following this, you will receive a comprehensive parent pack containing all the information you need to get started and feel confident about the next steps.
