Student Reintegration
Our Approach
Supporting successful reintegration through inclusive education
Anew AP works in partnership with schools and local authorities to deliver education that is inclusive by design. We support young people who are struggling to attend or succeed within mainstream settings by providing an alternative approach that is flexible, personalised, and responsive.
Our model is built around the individual learner. By adapting pace, provision, and support, we help students rebuild confidence, address gaps in learning, and move forward on a reintegration pathway that reflects their personal circumstances and readiness.
A structured opportunity to re-engage
Rapid access, a change of learning environment, and consistent one-to-one support from Anew AP tutors give students the space they need to pause, reset, and refocus. Stepping away from previous difficulties allows many learners to re-engage with education in a calm, supportive setting that feels like a genuine fresh start.
Maintaining connection with school
Students remain linked to their home school while accessing Anew AP provision, preserving important relationships with peers and staff. Alongside this, regular face-to-face sessions with a dedicated tutor help build trust and confidence. We collaborate closely with schools to align learning with existing pastoral and academic support structures.
Addressing learning gaps
Our personalised and adaptive teaching model enables students to make progress by targeting missed or insecure learning. By closing gaps effectively, students are better prepared and more confident when returning to a physical school environment.
Rebuilding confidence
Live, relational teaching is central to our approach. Students develop positive, meaningful relationships with experienced educators who provide encouragement, stability, and high expectations. This helps learners regain belief in their abilities and feel more equipped to manage challenges during reintegration.
Clear oversight and monitoring for schools
Our platform offers schools full visibility of student attendance in real time. This transparency supports informed decision-making around when and how reintegration should take place.
Curriculum alignment
Anew AP delivers a broad curriculum aligned with the national curriculum and examination requirements. This continuity ensures students remain academically on track and avoids the creation of further learning gaps.
A gradual pathway back to school
We support a phased return to mainstream education, allowing students to balance Anew AP provision with increasing involvement in school-based learning. This flexible model avoids a sudden or overwhelming transition and can be adapted to individual needs.
Our approach recognises that successful reintegration depends on more than academic progress alone. We consider the whole child, supporting emotional wellbeing, confidence, relationships, and readiness to learn alongside educational outcomes.
Relationship-centred teaching practice
Our teaching model is highly responsive to each learner. Tutors invest time in understanding individual needs, enabling lesson content, activities, and delivery to be adapted to support every student’s personal learning journey.
We place strong emphasis on re-engaging students with learning while also strengthening wellbeing, confidence, and cognitive skills. These elements are essential in preparing learners to transition successfully into their next educational setting.
Alongside strong subject knowledge, our tutors bring significant experience in supporting students with additional needs or vulnerabilities. They are skilled in working with young people who require a more tailored approach to continue progressing in education.
Each student follows an individual learning plan developed collaboratively with their tutor. These pathways are shaped by the student’s goals, strengths, and areas for development.
Consistent, supportive relationships are at the heart of our work. Through encouragement, structure, and empathy, teachers establish trust and stability. As confidence grows, students are guided to reflect on their next steps, identify priorities in each subject, and understand what is required to move forward successfully.
